this month. My grocery bill so far is under $10.00.
And my freezer and pantry are starting to get slimmer.

In one freezer, I'm down to 2 sacks of boneless chicken breasts. Those things will probably get thrown away.

That's a gallon a week and I go in spurts. I drink mostly water, tea and coffee.
And the occasional cocktail which I stocked up on last month so my liquor bill will be nothing this month either. And as cold as it has been we haven't even gone out to dinner.
Frugality is the new chic.

I love my milk.
Trying to eat out of the freezer and the pantry a little, myself. That's why I decided to make French onion soup.
I can't live on just buying bread and milk, though.

I just haven't needed anything else yet. I had a ton of vegetables left over from the holidays, no telling how many cases of wine and liquor, mixers, etc...That all should get me well past Mardi Gras.
Then I was given three hams and two turkeys. I gave most away but still have a ton. Plus all the stuff I have frozen. I must have ten bags speckled trout and another ten redfish and shrimp. All kinds of soup as well. The cold weather has helped. I made Julia Childs Chicken Fricasse yesterday and had everything I needed here including my homemade stock. That came out good.

I ran out of onions when I made the french onion soup. Had to get some today because I get nervous if I don't have onions and green onions. I think it may be an emotional problem.

not really.
1200/3 people = $400
400/30 days in a month = $13.34 per day
13.34/3 meals per day = $4.45 per meal, per person
it will be a little higher based on eating out, but i know Martini cooks great quality food, and that's not cheap.

We eat good and cook a lot for the neighbors and friends. Probably have some shampoo and wine in that number as well.
Edited to say, I know I have some hidden wine in that number. I use it to cook. Yeah...that's it.

Actually, looks a little low, to me, considering I know what kind of foods you prepare. Also, probably doesn't account for cooking for guests.
Martini's wife is definitely not fat. She's THIN, but she's a darn good cook, as well. His daughter is just fine, also.
Lovely Christmas picture. I got my cards addressed, but never got to writing on them or stuffing, sealing or stamping. I hope I'm ahead of the game for next year with the addressed envelopes.
