21 for BR

Then there was a lot floating around in BR that none, scratch that, most of the mavens knew about. I can personally run the numbers for the SBR spots, and there's no way I can get to 21, even accounting for the case FT and Hulk opened early.

Is this stuff really that good? I picked up a couple bottles Saturday at the brewery just to have but how does it rank among your other top tier beers?

Eta : I'm a complete novice when it comes to beer.

FWIW it's much harder to come by this year down here in NOLA. I bought about 6 bottles last year and it was only because months later Rouses still had it on the shelves. This year I'm being told Rouses isn't even getting any.

Change beer to Pappy, and go back and reread some of the bourbon posts where all the bourbon mavens were trashing the notion of clueless bourbon drinkers daring to pick up limited bottles of something they didn't know anything about.

Irony is one of my favorite things.

Maybe some owners and mangers skimmed some off the top.

Wise how much per bottle? I'm going to Steins before work tomorrow. Curious to see if he upcharges a lot. (that is, if he has any yet.) Talked to him Saturday and he said he'd be getting them this week. I'd be willing to bet he got 5 cases.

You're forgetting about on premise places, like Chimes, Chimes East, The Cove, The Bulldog, Pelican House. And the other Calandro's. And Patrick Mockler's case. I still can't account for a couple of cases based on what I know.

Say brah, yea it's very good. Among the best I've had, especially within the style. The longer you save it the better it gets. Hang onto one of them for at least a year.

I'm pulling up at the brewery in 5 minutes. I'll see how many bottles they have for purchase here and report back for everyone.

$15 but I got 10 % off. Steins will have the most from what I've heard. Elio and Pearl will have some too.

I made a run early this morning (yes I followed a Bud truck) and picked up a bottle. Limited to one per customer at Mathernes. Haven't decided if I will open the 2012 for Christmas or hold on to the 12 and 13 for a later date.

Guess that means I won't be stopping after work. I grabbed what I think were the first ones...I got them straight out the box as they were putting them out.

I asked if there was a limit, and he pointed to a second case and told me he would sell me the whole thing. I took four and left the rest for the mavens. Was going to stop again and maybe pick up two more for safe keeping if they still had some.

I'm being told right now.

40 cases were sent between Nola and BR.

Calandros is pissed about the small amount they got, so within the last 2 hours 2 cases were taken off the shelf here at the brewery and sent to them.

I'm guessing you can expect to see them in the morning.
