Is Peroni considered a "good beer" by beer snobs?

I am a big fan of both Peroni and Stella (in that order) and I was surprised a couple of weeks ago in Philly when a snobbish beer guy was saying how shitty of a beer Stella is.
I was wondering if he would say the same thing about Peroni. I freaking love Peroni and would stack that up against any beer in the world. Am I insane? Does Peroni have a good rep with beer snobs? Is Stella really considered to be a beer that ignorant people drink to look like they know what they're doing?
Personally I just love stinky beers. I guess it's the German in me. I'm not happy unless my beer smells like a dead skunk.

Peroni = Italian Budweiser

Yes. I would probably be considered a beer snob by most on here, and I've only tasted Stella once. frick Stella

I generally agree. But I would drink a Stella and a Peroni over a Bud, Miller, Coors any day.
Stella >>>>>>>>>>>>>Peroni>>>>Bud

i like peroni, I think its got a nice crisp taste to it. Very refreshing if on tap.
I like stella too. But I would pick a few hundred other beers before either peroni or stella.

Your sense of smell is crucially involved in taste, so I can't imagine you finding the beer to taste well. I don't see how people can convince themself they like stuff that smells like shite.

Same here. They aren't bad, but there are just so many better beers out there.

Why do you care? Drink what you like.
ETA: FWIW...It's better to listen to a beer connoisseur, than a beer snob.

nice analogy

for the original poster--check out beeradvocate.com for the names of micro and craft breweries. you can even search by category. so if you're into pilsners, you can find what's highly rated by people who take beer seriously. of course there's no need to agree with their opinions, but the reviews there will point you in the right direction and help you to find what you do like.
apropos, i don't really drink pilsners. but my go-to is lagunitas pils.

Your lumping of Becks in with these others tells me you just picked out every beer you've seen a TV ad for. I'd take plenty of US craft brews over any of these, but Becks does not belong in this group.

but no, you're right. i shouldn't have included an inbev mass-produced beer that brews shite like "green lemon" and "chilled orange". that's obviously a legit brewery and a legit beer.

Neither is a great beer IMO, but if I had to choose between the two I would choose Peroni over Stella.
