That sounds delicious. I always get a surf and turf at parkway which is fried shrimp and roast beef. Mayo makes it better.

Vinegar and vinegar-based items are my #1 as well.

I don’t know about it being the GOAT, but a fresh ground mustard is the perfect condiment for a host of applications.

TIL ITT: There are adults with the taste buds of small children. There is no other explanation for someone warding off venegar as a categorical.

Shrimp and roast beef isn't the same as meatball and marinara. That's just disgusting.

I'm of the group that believes that each condiment is great and has it's own place somewhere in the realm of flavor.

It seems like people who hate mustard or mayonnaise (or any common condiment for that matter) are the same people that become adults and still think vegetables are “yucky”. And they probably haven’t tried the condiments they dislike since they were kids. Grow the frick up

False.

I hate mayonnaise and could do without ketchup and mustard if needed. I’d much rather load up a burger with multiple veggies and no mayo, ketchup, and mustard.

while many things may be added to a burger, only mustard and onions are a must.

Maybe. I guess it just irritates the hell out of me when people dislike a food as a kid, and therefore decide to hate it through their adult life....Give it another try. Maybe use it in a way you’ve never had it before. If you still don’t like it, fine. Just don’t let your dislike for it as a kid dictate how you perceive it as an adult.

My loathe of mayo is well known by family and friends.

That is a narrow window and I eat and try just about anything.

I agree. I don't think there's any condiments I dislike. I like some more than others on certain foods, but all of them get used in my life.

Do you eat hot dips and whatnot that have mayo in the recipe? That's the only thing I'm ever curious about when people dislike mayo. I totally get hating it "raw".. but a life without creamy hot dips or Alabama white BBQ sauce doesn't sound as fun.

Deviled eggs, chicken salad, potato salad.. I think even crawfish bread has it. That's a lot of things to not eat :(

I would say I am ok with pimento cheese. Mayo based dips or things like chicken salad with mayo are a nogo

I'm like what you describe, but very different. I've tried stuff as a kid and hated it, but made it a point to try them occasionally over the years to see if I liked them. This is why I now love olives and bleu cheese when I used to hate them.

That being said, I still can't into mayo. Not sure what it is, just not my thing.

That also being said, my wife just brought home a burger and forgot to say no mayo on mine. I just covered it with mustard and will go to town.

Ah. Makes more sense. I find that it definitely can be tasted more in cold dishes than baked into something hot and basically just used as binder/moistener.

I am with you 100%, they were the kids whose momma had to cut the crust off the bread for them.

I love mustard from yellow "ball park" to Dijon, Creole is likely my favorite, I also make a batch of red remoulade (no mayo), put it in a squeeze bottle and BAM, another mustard.

I also keep a stable of special homemade mayonnaises, laced with chipotles, or fresh dill, or roasted red peppers. It's fun to make shrimp tacos with boiled shrimp, lettuce, chopped tomato, chopped hard boiled eggs and lots of different flavored mayos.
