I saw where they are closing their doors after tonight. They say it will be closed until further notice.

I was told they ran out of PPP money over a month ago. Don’t see how a place that size can reopen. What a shame.

All of the restaurants in that group are shutting down until further notice. That includes Juban's, Beausoleil, Adrian's and Christina's downtown. I hope they can figure out a way to get back up and running.

Woah. I'm going to a rehearsal dinner at Juban's tonight.

I'd rather Beausoleil reopen than Juban's. Much better.

I think they are just closing until the economic climate starts looking better again. Couple weeks ago they said they were suspending Beausoleil until further notice as well.

But couldn’t that be a very long time?

Apparently all employees have been either furloughed or laid off, with no timetable to return to work. They also said that all of the restaurants are currently being marketed for sale.

Regardless of your opinion of Juban's flagship restaurant, this is just crazy to see so many closing at this rate.

Wouldn't bother me one bit. With Sammy's gone, it claimed the title of Most Overrated Restaurant in Baton Rouge.

It’s just not Sammy’s anymore. Food totally different. Gumbo is barely brown and full of okra. Fried seafood was really good. No prime rib Poboy. Food average at best.

Well which are you referring to?

Sammy’s food had gone to crap well before they closed this past year and it sold to Stabiler. So are you talking about the food at the tail end of the old ownership? Or the brand new Stabiler version that just opened?

I haven’t had it since the sale, but I heard it is pretty good now. It isn’t old original Sammy’s recipes, but a big improvement on what Sammy’s had become. Supposedly.
