Is it a good idea to combine different crawfish boil seasonings when boiling?

It's been a while since I've boiled crawfish. Wondering if I can mix LA fish fry crawfish boil with la crawfish company boil? Also wondering if anyone has ever tried the LA crawfish company boil seasoning? Also, what stage does the sausage, corn, and mushrooms go in?

TIA

Put the seasoning YOU like and let rip! And while you wait, hydrate. Put that on a cracker dude

I do it it I have mix match bags laying around. If I'm purposefully buying I get a few bags of the same seasoning (Cajunland)

Yeah it’s all basically the same stuff

Mix away if that’s what you got.

Here's the combination I use. It's pretty good. In fact it won a ten pot neighborhood contest.

1 large container zatarains proboil

1 12oz bag of chackbay

1 16oz bag of Louisiana brand or 14oz regular zatarains, plus an additional half bag of either.

1 cup of celery seed

12oz of liquid boil

1 bottle of lemon juice

1 cup white vinegar

Fill an 80 to 100qt pot half way. Put potatoes and sausage in first. Put the corn in after you turn off the boil. Also, use fresh corn. It makes a major difference. Frozen corn dehydrates when you freeze it, gets waxy and sticks to your teeth. Fresh is best, trust me on this.

Did a couple boils last year. Each boil I did 2 batches. Used a bag of Louisiana seasoning and a bottle of crab boil on the first batch. Added Swamp Dust on the second batch to the existing pot. Family loved the second batch both times.

My go-to these past couple years has been a big bag of Louisiana, a bag of Chackbay, and a bottle of liquid boil. So, yes I would say you can mix

Yeah I generally do a bag of Louisiana and some zats liquid. I add chackbay if I have it. If not generally something else.

There’s no point in combining seasonings. Each seasoning pack is measured for your cook, why mix it up?

That being said…sure, you can do it if you want. There’s nothing wrong with it, it’s just not logical.

Everyone wants to reinvent the wheel when it comes to boils but all you need to do is find a seasoning you like and roll with it. Learn how to cook them right and you’ll always love your crawfish. But…it’s your cook so do it any way you want.

Maybe some people enjoy crawfish spicier than others

If I can find it, I always throw in a bag or two of the old seed bags just as a tribute to past generations.

That’s why stores sell red pepper.

I usually mix Zatarains powder with the whole peppercorn/various seasoning bags they make and I also throw in Louisiana Fish Fry's Cajun fire into the mix. I find that the Zatarains powder has the salt, Cajun Fire has the heat and the bags have a little complexity. Of course I use lemon, celery, onion powder, and minced garlic too. I always taste the water for how much I need. Always comes out good.

They are all pretty much the same shite with different amounts of each seasoning.

My go to is a4.5lb of Louisiana (hot) and 1/2 canister of zats pro boils.

Beware of which ones you mix that have a higher sodium content though.
