Is Goose Island Beer any good?

I read about this beer and made a special trip to the big beverage outlet to find it because none of the grocery stores I go to carry it.
But then I saw they had Guinness on sale for $6.97 a six pack and went with that instead. I know I like Guinness but I don't know if I'd like Goose Island.
The Guinness was $2 cheaper.
Actually, the only beers I've ever tried that I didn't like were Colt 45 and Michelob Light. A beer has to be really bad for me not to like it.
(and the Michelob light didn't taste bad...it just tasted like water.)

Which Goose Island beer? If you can find it, try Labatt Blue. It's one of the best imports I've ever had.

Who cares. It's still pretty good. Is it the best? No. But it's still a good beer.

I drink less of it now because of that. Not that I hate Bud or anything, but I'd rather support locals if possible, and GI doesn't make anything so spectacular that there aren't alternatives in those categories.

Some are good. The Sofia and Matilda are widely available and good. Honkers, 312, and IPA are not so good. Their stouts are world class.

I wanna say it's only the mass produced beers like 312 and a few others that Budweiser brews. The specialties are still brewed at the Chicago facility

LOL okay. 1) I'm pretty sure that some of the GI product is still brewed locally and InBev has nothing to say about their recipes 2) find me a better BA stout than BCBS or a better wild ale than some of the Sisters. Do they exist? Yes. But are they as readily available? Generally, no.

I've spoke to the manager at the GI brewery before. They still brew almost everything in house

Actually their IPA, Honkers, and 312 lines of beer are brewed primarily in NY and CO now, IIRC.

If we start getting Elysian I'll probably buy their shite too, assuming it stays of the quality it was prior to being bought out. Good beer is good beer.
