As stated in previous discussion I don’t eat fast food very often. My wife wanted Wendy’s the other day so we got some. Been long time. Two large baconator combis was 24 bucks. I was stunned.

Stopped at Popeyes and got a “large” side of mashed potatoes and gravy. Six something almost seven dollars. Enough for a meal and actually pretty good, but pricey.

Which Five Guys was this? I’m looking at the Brentwood menu right now. Smallest burger is $7.79. Small fries (530 calories) are 4.99. Regular drink 2.99. Now we’re at $15.77 pre-tax for somewhere in the neighborhood of 1300 calories. A 20% tax rate would still keep you under $19. Did your wife leave a $3 tip?

Here we go. I’m 62 and recall when my parents reluctantly stopped at a McDonald’s while on way home from seeing grandma in nursing home to get us one single burger per person and one order of fries led two people and no drinks (because they could bring them) and it was 19 cents per burger. And man those memories are like 14k gold. Like hearing my grandmas stories about when she was young and healthy. Glory days.

Eh, maybe she’s like me and can only eat half but her eyes are bigger than her stomach so she orders large and throws half of it out.
