Lol
I’m sure he means Deanies. Place is barely above Mulattes as a fried grease place.

Currently the best restaurant in the city, IMO.

There are some truly awful suggestions in this, but the OP does seem like an old Baw so they kind of make sense

It's important to be able to discern context.

If you are staying at The Monteleone, then you are walking distance to many places that fit your request. First, you should look at Mr B's across the street. Lots of variety and a great representation of New Orleans creole bistro cuisine. If that doesn't interest you, then check out Irene's (Italian) and Galatoire's Steakhouse if you are a steakhouse family. I'd include Galatoire's restaurant, but it's similar to Mr B's. And don't miss out on the rooftop pool at the Monteleone, it's a well kept secret and only open to hotel guests. There is a rooftop bar and they serve food too.

Mr Bs or Pelican Club
this is the best recommendation, no need to trek uptown, Mid-City or for that matter even the warehouse
solid food, plenty of room, easy peasy
some of those recs are new orleans institutions but the food is just ok (looking at you venezia's)

Mr B’s much better food and service than Pelican Club. PC has lost its luster since Covid.

Mr B’s sure is getting a lot of attention in this thread. I should probably give it a try as it’s been about 2 years since I have been.
I’m guessing I have ate there at least 35 times and have never really had a great experience there. Mostly just very very average meals.
