I want to, really badly, but it wasn't a choice when I was getting my job offers senior year. I had 2 offers in Houston and one in BR, none in Lafayette (I failed to get to the second round of interviews with several companies)
After accepting the job in BR, I finally got a call back from a place in Lafayette

Why the "outside of Louisiana" caveat? You don't want to admit that BR is the 4th best food city in its own state?
Well no shite, Lafayette is clearly better and Covington may be better as well. South Louisiana is the best food region in the world. Think of it this way: Mississippi State may be the 3rd or 4th best team in the SEC West, but top 10 in the country.

The "Northshore" is clearly a better dining scene than Baton Rouge and it's still improving.

I should have added "per capita", but I stand by my statement.

Agreed, probably the premier area for Mexican cuisine in the state.

Name a better one per capita?
South of France (6.8 million people)?
Catalonia (7.5 million people)?
Bavaria (12.4 million people)?
Tuscany (3.7 million people) is one of the few legit competitors.

Another legit contender.

I was underwhelmed by the food here. The beer was outstanding, however.

There's about 6,000 people in The Cinque Terre.

That place sounds amazing, I'll have to make a point to visit there on my next trip back to Italy.

It truly is. In hindsight I wish I would have skipped Milan, spent 1 less day in Rome and used that time in Cinque Terre. There and Florence are hard to beat.

Aren't you a little bit young to be making such broad statements about the dining scene around the world?
