check out the Sunoco Gas Station
3847 La Hwy 1 S
Port Allen, LA 70767

Across the Highway from Spillway Sportsman.

Tender, good flavor, won't tear up the roof of your mouth.

I believe they only serve it M-F for lunch.

My other favorite item there is their lasagna. Surprising good for a gas station.

My least liked item is their fried rice. It looks good but it sucks. And this is coming from a person who likes just about any rice dish, including mediocre fried rice.

I think they have liver too. Not 100% sure. Can't vouch for them, since I favor gizzards.

KFC made the best livers and gizzards. Something about their original recipe that complemented itt.

This^. Anyone know why KFC took them off the menu?

Popeye's livers were great but you had to tell them so soft fry them so they wouldn't be overcooked.

The Church’s on Government has livers and gizzards and they are good.

The station at the corner of O’Neil and Old Hammond has good gizzards and livers.

I buy a couple of pints of gizzards and brine them overnight. Then cook down in a milk gravy and eat over rice. My grandmother used to make that and we couldn’t eat enough of it. Lot of black pepper. Brining them makes them tender.

Spillway Sportsman’s breakfast biscuit sandwiches were the shite. Are they still good?

Not sure. They make a chicken gizzard breakfast biscuit?

Because if you tell me they do I’ll tell you tomorrow if they are good or not because I’ll rush over to try it.

Chicken gizzards with a fried egg on a cat head might be good in my book.

Pablo’s Truck Stop/ Pablos Cafe in New Roads serves some mean chicken livers too.

In case you’re ever headed up to Morganza.

The best livers I've ever had were from a gas station in Kingsport TN at 10:30 in the morning. My new trainee was reluctant to eat any at first, but the smell finally got to him and got his approval too. Luckily it was in his car.

Good to see folks who also grew up eating pretty much every part of the chicken. I grew up eating the livers, gizzards and hearts. My wife's family think's I'm some kind of barbarian for eating those.

Nobody's livers and gizzards are better than the Exxon station off I-49 at the Natchitoches exit.
