Silver Spoon in Bocage. The Jubans people messed up a great thing. I understand they wnated to add dinner which I think is a great idea. I just don't know why they had to screw with the lunch thing they had going. It stayed packed, and if it ain't broke don't fix it!

Zorba's--We haven't had any good Greek food here since they closed.
Other places if I could pick more than one:
Delmont Pastries outside the South gates of LSU on Highland in that strip mall. I remember going there sometimes for lunch specials and bratwurst.
Dunkin' Donuts--because if we still had one, I wouldn't feel obligated to stop at every single one I find when I travel.

Zorba's and Mickey's Gold Nugget are two that I miss. But I wouldn't want Zorba's back if it meant Louisiana Lagniappe wouldn't be there.

If going by highest rated BR restaurant by serious food critics, Mobil guide, and star ratings doled out by such..
1. Chalet Brandt, when under Chef Charles Brandt, was BR's greatest restaurant at it's peak, ever. Also, Chef Larry Masciaz of Maci's fame worked for him in there, he a CIA-Hyde Park grad.
2. Del Lago, in it's late 1970's/early 1980's heyday, BR's highest watermark for trendy sophistication, and it's own Studio 54, with superb food. Owner Linda Merriam was a great chef and made most recipes there, also had a young Kim Kringlie amongst others back in that kitchen.
3. Chinese Inn, under MK Wong, late 1970's on Fla Blvd, and later on Airline until around 1993, BR's best chinese cuisine ever. His top chef eventually retired back to Houston, and they sold it to cousins. Not the same.
4. The Village, back when Mrs Fannie and the kitchen were at the top of their game.
5. Roma Deli, KC John's slightly sugary sensation salad on the poboys, made for the best BR's ever had.
6. Serop's on Govt St, back when Vasken had all his aunts and cousins, old ladies in kitchen, and all his disciples in-house before striking out on their own to compete with him. Was much better than anything in BR today, and any current Serop outpost.
P.S. As to your post, I loved Danvers burgers and salad bar.

Smokey Bones
Oak Grove's smoked chickens
Chammps
Cajun J's
Western Sizzlin...."I'll take the cattle rustler steak with a side gunslinger greens, and the lil misses will have the kimosabe burger with tonto taters"
I'd also wish Mason's Grill would turn back into La Pedigo's so posters would shut their pie holes about Mason's highly overrated hamburgers with the ridiculously sweet krispy kreme buns.
The original China Express on Coursey would be my
top want back, followed closely by KFC on Jones Creek, and The Ground Pati on Sherwood or Jefferson.

Yeah, the House Lo Mein with skinny noodle has never been the same since.

Ate there last night matter of fact. Got beef and Chinese Vegetables though. They are too skimpy on their shrimp to get the House Lo Mein anymore.

I ate there after the ownership change, and it was absolutely horrible...Just to make sure it wasn't a fluke I tried it again, and the next time it was still horrible.
