I tried Shake Shack in chicago

Maybe bc it's not in New York but this place sucked
Cost $200 for a burger cheese fries and shake. Have calories sign next to it all 2700 calories for that!
Burger was small greasy and forgettable. Tasted like Wendy's premium burger
Fries were crinkle and from frozen cheese sauce was like american and cheddar and not good
Milkshake was too thick
I wouldn't go back even if it was free. Doesn't deserve to be compared to five guys or in out. Just a slow line overpriced under tasted burger
It's gross

Been to one in NYC. I thought it was overrated and overpriced. Don't really get the hype, but I guess I have to say it was a good hamburger.
That being said, I'm pretty certain you should have questioned the person who rang you up.

I agree. Went to one in Philly, it's just okay. Better than Umami Burger in LA though. That place is overhyped IMO...

Eh, it was hyped up to me before I tried it, so I came away feeling similarly to you. I think if I would have tried it with no bias it would have been "okay". It's probably 5 guys level.

The one at JFK Terminal 4 is great, but that might just be the novelty of a greasy burger when returning from abroad.

It's Shake Shack. It's just one of those touristy things you have to do. Although if I'm going to eat it I'm going to have it in NYC in Madison Square Park.
