W L Weller not too expensive but great. From the makers of Buffalo Trace also nice.

Buffalo Trace also make Eagle Rare, which is my go to.

I've always liked Makers. I know it's not a designer whiskey, but I find it very enjoyable.

Makers 46
Russell's Reserve 10
40 Creek Double Barrel reserve

Woodford Reserve
Garrison Brothers <-- Don't spend the $75 if it's even sold outside of Texas.. fricking sucks... WAY too oaky..and they are too small to demand it.

I throw my support behind this list

Try rediscovering Wild Turkey 101. I picked some up the other day in a rush and was impressed. Hadn't had it in 10 plus years and long before I'd drink whiskey neat or with a few drops of water.

Try it with one small ice cube to start.

Personally like the Jim Beam stuff..... Basil Haydens, Bookers and Bakers. Try to have all 3 at all times... All have their own unique taste. Had some Eagle Reserve and some Grand Pappy.... both good shite.

My 3 go to under $30: 1792, Johnny Drum (currently drinking), and Eagle Rare. Elmer T. Lee is just over 30, and delicious
