frick no, the Ghost of TJ would have come down from the other side to stomp that waiter's neck if he saw that.

Hmmm. So there is a tablecloth and it is a place where wine is ordered at multiple tables in short succession. Ok. How about Fleming’s

Ok. Down to my last guesses. I don’t think it would be stabs with kimball there. I can’t see you going downtown to stroubes. It better not be Maison Lacour. So I will go with the one that I hope it is. Ruffffffinos.

Across the board it’s not uncommon today. It’s unfortunate when it happens at a place we enjoy, esp when it’s a favorite and albeit local.

Hope your experience is better next time

I generally get amusement at situations such as this. This dude must have been on his first shift and will learn in the future, I'm hoping.

I'll discretely let the owner know via email so he can tighten up his staff.

A little training wouldn’t hurt.

I remember wrestling with a cork before I knew how to do it. Unfortunately, I was in a restaurant in Paris across the street from our hotel, I walked in and asked to borrow a corkscrew to open a bottle we bought at a shop. Comedy for the French diners ensued as the Yank used brute force to remove the cork.

I’m more amused at an 18 year old that hasn’t opened wine before. Or sad.

No, not Ruffino's.

I used to go downtown all the time when Varnadoe was at Stroube's.

I need to get back to Maison LaCour, it's been years since I have dined there. Is it still good, CM

I once got shut off at a sidewalk cafe in Paris. It was lunchtime and we tried to order a second carafe of wine and waiter said we had too much. It was weird as we were drinking their house wines that are low alcohol and weren't loud or anything.

I guess they can do that when their tip is in the price of the food/wine.
