How much should a meal at Commander's hit for?

Nothing extravagant, no steak, no wine, just an entree and dessert.
I ask because an in-law decided to take the matriarch of my Wife's family to Commander's for her 75th birthday ... and then hit up other family members to put in on it.
Just got off the phone with the matriarch (I like her, just not the one who took her to dinner) ... she had a shrimp dish that involved coconut, with a rice side. She said it was "fancy rice" ... which means jasmine or basmati was involved. She had a souffle for dessert.
I'm asking because I've found out that the in-law collected at least $250 from family members.
I didn't put in on it. Saw the bullshat from a mile away. She'll get a separate gift from us.

Appetiser ~$15
2 Desert ~$30
Tip ~$20
Total = $135
Drinks are about 10-15 a piece. Not sure how much wine is there.
I'm probably over estimating that, too.

She may have had the curried shrimp and coconut on the 3 course dinner special or maybe it was offered as a separate entree.

Holy shite that's low. So the in-law got all of the thanks for "buying" lunch then got people to fund her meal and then some. TPOS. I'd call them out on it (well I probably wouldn't, but I'd talk shite about them to everyone who did put in on it...hoping one of them would in front of the invited person...Did ________ tell you we all paid for your dinner?).

Unless she ordered an expensive bottle of wine, she didn't spend $250. Do the donators of the money know the meal didn't cost the total collected?

A Matriarch could be a Great-Grandmother, or a Great-great.

My maternal grandmother was referred to as the matriarch of the family. My grandfather was deceased and she was one helluva woman. A matriarch is the "head" of the family.

That WOULD be fun, but pointless. Nothing will change. We already knew how she was, that's why the Wife and I didn't give her sh@t.
After a little reflection, I just realized that I really asked for you guys' input to be sure I wasn't being an arse about it. It's clear that I wasn't, and my apprehension was justified.
