I now a guy that’s been working at Antoine’s since he was a kid. He clears 80k-100k a year. Has done quite well for himself

Im an accoutant and use to bartend. No one is auditing a 22 year old because they didnt report their cash tips. I never did.

Yea, I realize no one would get audited, but that was at least the number I was told. With most tips, especially at a high end restaurant, coming via CC, the point is moot anyway.

Have a friend who manages one of the higher end restaurants Uptown and his waitstaff averages between 60 and 70k/year. Also know someone who worked at Commander's within the last 5 years and they made about the same or a little more.

I think there are some situations where waitstaff can make upwards of 100k but they are either working a ridiculous amount of hours or have been somewhere for a really long time.
