How long do you wait before eating your chicken fried rice at a hibachi restaurant?

Had hibachi for dinner tonight, and a couple beside me had a couple of small bites of their rice throughout the meal. I typically inhale mine as soon as the dude puts it on my plate.

Do you casually graze on yours throughout the meal or what?

My Teppanyaki SOP

Order sushi before meal.

Eat soup while chef cooks rice & save soup bowl.

Cover rice with empty soup bowl while chef cooks vegetables & protein and eat sushi while waiting.

Uncover rice when vegetables and protein are ready.

Eat all hot food together.

Top notch sir. I would substitute the word scallops for protein and be happy as hell

I start eating mine as soon as it in the bowl and I don't Really stop till it’s gone.

Idk how much hibachi rice I could Consume because I’ve never been presented with enough to find a limit.

I’ll pick at it a little when I first get it. And a little more when the veggies come. But mostly want to have all the items together so I don’t really dive in until the protein comes.

Where there’s hibachi, there’s generally always a better choice:

Happy to hear this is still true 20 years after the days where I would order it probably twice a week in high school. I loved that stuff.
