How in the world does Frost Top remain open and pass inspection?

I cant ever recall going when I was a kid but decided to eat there this weekend. (Not sure why)

Do they normally have A\C? It was suffocating how hot it was inside the place. Maybe it broke recently

SO ordered a RB float for my 2 year old... He didnt want it for some reason and told her I would be cautious to drink it. Judging by how dirty and run down the place is, I am willing to bet they dont clean that ice cream machine.

In all seriousness, they must be paying someone to pass their inspection.

And where is this jewel located. There are 2 that I know of, one in Metairie off Clearview and the other is in Laplace on 61.

I'm sure there are others out there I don't know about, but likely not too many more.

The Lotta Burger is one of the best fast food burgers around. Their root beer is also on point. It’s that old fashioned non carbonated variety.

I love Frostop

i personally did not like the RB.

I am curious how it remains open with how dirty it is.

The wife and I have been to that one several times over the years and it is kept up nicely. Seems more times than not it's hot rod night and lots of older muscle cars are in the lot, which makes for a nice diversion checking them out and grabbing a bite to eat.

The one in Laplace is also clean every time we've been in it. If I run up to Bailey's for Andouille, we'll usually stop at that Frost Top and grab a burger, fries and root beer before heading home. The only problem is, it is closed on Sundays and we found that out the last time we were up that way.

Yes it is, heavily carbonated to boot. Rouses sells the old Frost Top root beer in 20 oz. plastic bottles and it pours like a Guinness beer no matter how delicate you are in pouring it over ice. It will foam up and takes a while to settle.

Drinking it cold straight out the bottle is an experience as you swallow it and the carbonation is intense.

The root beer and burgers are great, not worried about it passing inspection.

I love the root beer at the BR location - it tastes like it has melted vanilla ice cream in it.

The bottles they sell at Rouses don't taste the same.

I agree the one in baton rouge is a dump...its dirty inside and the help there doesn't seem to care..
The mcdonalds down the street is nice but the help there is terrible to my order is wrong half the time. Also the clientel5 is kinda sketchy at best...you also have to climb over bikes to get into the restaurant
The new sonic down the street is your best option...its very clean and has indoor seating
The one thing that I have noticed about going to HOUSTON is how the Hispanic population has taken over the fast food business...the workers seem to be faster and much more efficient...may order is always correct...when will this happen in baton rouge..

The Frostop in Laplace will celebrate their 60th anniversary next month. Been owned by the same family the entire time. Anytime I am back in town, I stop in for a double lot o burger, onion rings and a root beer.
