Lol, get out of the Med center and stop going to fricking buffets if you want to eat decent food. Houston has more top notch and variety of food types than just about anywhere.

Owliie, with all due respect frick You!! I have been visiting family since n Houston since about 1976. Much more regularly the past few years. Other than NASA and the outstanding medical centers I can find few redeeming qualities about Houston.

For bbq, go to republic bbq. I have been to just about every bbq place in Houston. Republic takes the win.
For Tex mex, go lupe tortilla.
For seafood go to Louisiana (the state).
Also, try genghis grill.

I totally agree with that crab LoL, when I am there it can be a little tough to "get out of the medical center" esp. after being at the hospital all day and then just trying to grab a bite to eat before going back to the hotel. My last trip, though, I stayed at a hotel off of the south loop around the galleria and it is a much nicer area and I should be able to find better restaurants in that area but I have to keep from getting lost first. LOL

any one of the number of top-ranked BBQ places
some top quality sushi if you do that
and in different parts of town where there are ethnic communities some world-class Asian, East Asian, FarEast Asain, Ethiopian, East European food
