Solid list of places in Houston for people to check out since I see threads all the time where people are passing through, visiting or just moved to Houston. Almost every place list is "inside the loop." Sorry Katy and Woodlands you will have to stick with Chili's and Papasito's. We're too cool for school down here inside of 610.

Down inside the loop, lots of areas were sketchy until the past 10 years. That's where all the good places are now.

I've been to a few of those. There are many fine restaurants outside of the loop that will beat them hand's down.

While I don't agree with some of the list I have always thought of Houston as a great food city. I like it better than NOLA.

The only German restaurants I know of are outside the loop. P.O.'s out in Cypress puts out a solid burger but I don't know of any places that I'm willing to drive 30 to 45 minutes out to go eat at. I can essentially walk to a bunch of these that are listed.

Oh agreed. There's a few listed on there that I'm not too big on such as Beaver's. I had sub-par service a couple of times but the food was fine. But then I went one more time and it was a total clusterfrick. I haven't returned there in about 2 years.

And I prefer Lupe Tortilla to Molina's which is listed. Spanish Flowers is great 2am. Enchiladas are a great idea at 2am!!!

I wasn't blown away by Goode Company BBQ this weekend. I did eat at Hay Merchant and it was pretty good though(don't think it was listed on any of these lists).

I've heard great things about Underbelly. I think that's the one next door to the nice beer bar.

I find that Christian's locations vary. The one in midtown, I don't like at all. The one on White Oak seems to have better food, atmosphere and service.

And I didn't care for Hubcap all that much. BRC puts out a good burger.
