Homemade Honey Bourbon - help

I have some sugar cane honey comb from Poplar Grove - if you dont know what it is, its basically when bees use cut sugar cane sap with pollen to make honey. Its black like molasses.
Someone told me I could take this comb put it in a mason jar with bourbon for three days and make a thick sweet liquor.
Has anyone here tried to do this?
Is there a good bourbon that would work well for this? I was just going to use JB.
Thanks

This is whatin a bartender at Juban's told me.
I bought a honey comb at the Red Stick Farmer's Market...they sell Hunter's combs for several bucks. I put it in a mason jar with a fifth of Jim Beam. After a week, I put a wand mixer in the jar and broke up the comb. I let it sit for another week, then filtered the liquor though cheesecloth. It turned out good! Think I'll do it again for football season

Yeah, Juban's honey bourbon is damn good. I was told by a bartender there that they use knob creek...damn them if they're serving beam at that price. I was duped.

Oh Juban's may use Knob Creek. I just didn't want to use good booze for it. Jim Beam is my go-to for mixing with Coke at tailgates. The bartender told me the recipe, not what boubon to use

I made honey liqueur twice and it turned out great both times.
I boiled water and honey and then skimmed the beeswax over the top. I strained it through coffee strainers a few times and filled a mason jar with half of the watered eown honey and half with 180 Everclear. Then sealed it up and stored it in the cabinet for about a month.
The results are great. It's honey sweet without the harsh taste of pure alcohol. Really no alcohol flavor at all. It does burn like hell on the way down.
So it's about a 90 proof honey liquor (liqueur).
I'm not sure if this helps at all.
