I have the one that is about 4', the rest are pretty small. I don't know if being in the ground slows growth, or if my bed is retaining too much water.
my evidence does support in ground is slower. because the 2 in ground are the 2 shortest. the 2 tallest are in pots.

I did a quick search and didn't see anything so I'll ask. Have any of you brewed with a THC distillate?

I had a seltzer a few weeks ago in Tuscaloosa (yuck, I know), and it had 25mg of Delta 8. I bought 100g of distillate I'm splitting with a friend, but want to try and brew with it instead of doing gummies, because the homemade ones are molding quicker than they are gone through.

So question if, if you did what was your process? I've read it is best to dissolve in Everclear. Which I guess could work if I just go the seltzer route.

I don't make seltzers, but i had a few homebrew magazines that had some recipes. I think it's just a matter of dissolving sugar in water, then adding yeast.

My question was more how to use the THC.

I have used my homebrew equipment to extract THC. Basically used it as a giant sous vide setup and then a double boiler setup.

To decarb, first, I ground-up flower and vacuum sealed it. I weighed it down and placed in in my kettle, which was recirculating at 200 degrees. I let it ride in there for about an hour. The bag will want to expand because it's releasing some gas.

After it was decarbed, I then put the flower in a bowl grain alcohol. I set my bath temperature to 170, which is slightly below the boiling point of ethanol. I rigged up a double boiler in the kettle, and let that go for about 30 minutes.

I then used that infused ethanol to dose beers. I have no idea what the mg/ml was, but it did the trick. Just kept a medicine dropper of it in the kegerator and dosed as needed.

I know that's a crude write-up, but it's possible. There are much better youtube videos on it.

What are you folks using for a fermentation chamber? I used to use a dorm fridge with a collar on it. It bit the dust last year. Was wondering if there's something easier to move around. The collar made it really awkward.

ETA: I ferment in 6 gallon carboys with a blowoff.

I use one of these large fridges, which isn't easy to move around.

I got a used wine cooler off craigslist. Fits a 5 gal bucket. I also attached a tap post on top so use it as kegerator as well.

I used to have a used chest freezer that fit 2 fermenters. Then it died on me so I bought one for about $150 at lowes that fits 1 fermenter.

I use a mini fridge. I ferment in my kegs, so I'm able to fit 2 in there at a time. I just can't ferment at 2 different temps yet.

I use the same as zappa. Something like Habitat ReStore or FB Marketplace is great for picking up old fridges for cheap.

I'd love to be able to use a full size fridge (plus old ones are cheap) but I'm pretty limited on space. I already have a fridge/freezer plugged up in my shed so I don't want to put too much more on that breaker. The new chamber needs to be able to fit in my spare bedroom closet.

I like my setup because it's small, good temp control. Fermenting in kegs basically means I can only really get 4-4.5 gals per batch, but I'm at the point now that I like brewing more than how quickly I can get rid of the beer.

I have enough kegs where I could spare a few to ferment in. Did you drill the lid or get a conversion kit?

Neither. I just have a blow off tube running from the gas connection to a growler filled with starsan... you just want to make sure you are using fermcap and giving yourself enough room for fermentation to rise some. Even still I usually end up with a little gunk in the gas connection, but never enough to clog it.

I'm guessing this also makes it pretty easy to do a low oxygen transfer. Do you have a shortened dip tube or do you just rack out with a autosiphon?
