7.9 gallon buckets with lid and stopper for $13
I've got some of these and use them a LOT. So much headspace and so easy to dry hop or add fruit.

I almost pulled the trigger on getting a couple more, and may yet

Finally (fingers crossed) getting around to brewing my Baltic porter today. My lacto starter has been going for a while now and looks pretty funky but smells nice and tart. I'll mash today, pitch the lacto starter, boil tomorrow, pitch brett, let it go for a bit, toss in oak and the red wine it has been soaking in, toss in raspberries, then dry hop & bottle.

Done that before. Heat water. Steep and run and go get more propane. Come back and boil.

Kegerator Pics.....
Had an old fridge with rust on the door but ran well. Sanded, primed and painted. Made a faucet/ backsplash out of some birch plywood I had leftover from some furniture projects. Stained and polyurethaned it. I have a 3 keg system w/ 3 faucets. I think I can get a 4th keg in the fridge so left room to install one more faucet.
First Keg full of Zappa Dust!

Brewed a English Winter Warmer today. Pretty easy brewday outside of the baby not feeling well. Ended up at 1074, round about expected og. Going to let it chill a little longer in the chill chest before pitching yeast.

Will be building a keezer soon. Just waiting on a deal for a chest freezer to pop up on craigslist

Good deal. That tall skinny CO2 tank seems real smart for your setup.
Finished with the house projects?

Finally got around to mashing my baltic porter today.
But first things first,
Congratulations
Pot with false bottom, BIAB bag, & water treatment
Base grains with some water in the pot, I just fill it up to the water mark and don't bother with measuring anymore
Start adding the grains once the water gets up to around 110 degrees
Keep mixing until mash temp of 151 is reached
Stick in a preheated oven and pull out in 20 min to stir
Pull out every 20 min or so and give it a good stir & check temp
After 45 min, add specialty grains
Setup the mash out station, while heating some additional water
After mashing out, happy with the color and taste
Recycle spent grains as mulch.
I let 7+ gallons cool down to 120 and then pitched one cup of lacto starer. I'll probably boil it tomorrow evening, since I don't want it to get too tart.

Thank you sir!
Very interesting process. So many different ways to achieve the same process.

Is this a good deal for a wort chiller? My mother in law is looking for gift ideas for me. I use a 50qt brew kettle. TIA

Very cool process!

I'm really tempted to add a BIAB grain bag to my mash tun to make clean up a little easier.
How do you clean one of these bags after use? Do you just run them through a washing machine?

you might want to look at home depot and see how much you can buy copper tubing for. Those coils are really easy to make, and you can make it to fix your pot better, and probably longer (more coils) for a little cheaper
ETA: I see they are running a special on malt mills, discounting it $50, for those of you that are interested in such things

Adventures in Homebrewing is normally pretty cheap on their equipment. I have gotten multiple things from them.
