Got my scores back from Austin.
My peanut butter chocolate stout managed a 32 in the specialty beer category (23A), and the feedback hit the nail on the head. It needs more chocolate and a darker color. I agree completely. This batch wasn't as good as previous ones.
However, my coffee vanilla porter fared very well in 12B, getting a 38.5. I still think it's the best beer I've brewed, and I'm very happy with that score. It advanced to a mini-BOS round. Very pleased with the results from that one.
Anybody else get their scoresheets?

So i bottled my 3rd Prime IPA after generously dry hopping for 5 days. Has a very strong citrus aroma to it, and a bright citrus taste.
Anyone know of any homebrew competitions i can enter that judge within 1 month?

Deadlines for a lot of early May competitions have ended or are ending in the next week...
Hogtown Brewoff in Ganesville FL has a competition in late may and their entry window hasn't opened yet.

When picking a competition to ship to, I wouldn't pick anything where the beer will be in transit more than two days.
You also want to make sure that when you ship it won't sit in a truck over the weekend.

May look into this one. I have 2 to submit, the trick is finding competitions with the correct styles (saison, IPA) and that judge within the right time.
BTW, my saison i brewed a few months back is getting a lot of good feedback from mavens/non-mavens alike. My brother in law wants me to brew it, so he can put it on tap at his house, when it is finished being built.

Is that the mellow mushroom one? I looked into it, and can only find the entry website for the fruit beers.
