Any recommendations on a cheap kit for a starter

AHS has some nice starter kits. They even have a two stage with plastic secondary right now for $100

Groupon has a midwest supply kit for sale too.

Umm, so I'm listening to TBN and they're interviewing De Struise and they're saying that they're one of the best brewers in the world. We get this stuff in BR occasionally. Why haven't I heard more about it?

How'd the homebrew demonstration go at Marcello's?

I ended up fixing my all-grain leak problem. The solution = shite load of teflon wrap. The problem was that the water was seeping around the threads of the nipple.

Touche'

So what does everyone have on tap.

I've got:
AHS Pumpkin Ale (brewed in october)
AHS Carribou Slobber (brewed in November)
NB German Alt (Brewed in February)
Blackberry Wheat (Brewed in May)

I tried the blackberry after 10 days primary, 2 weeks secondary and 2 weeks bottled. Very good, could age another week or 2. The blackberry is subtle, so it doesn't overpower the beer. I think it may be my best, and being that it was my first full-boil batch, i think it may be confirmed.

ETA: off to lunch

i need a keg system

I have my batch of AHS American Brown to bottle this weekend, then my wife wants to make a batch of the AHS orange creamsicle ale. As soon as it's done I want to brew a pale ale. Right now I have the AHS west coast pale ale in my wishlist as the one to buy.

My next 2 brews will be an IPA, followed by that recipe. I plan on secondary fermenting in my whiskey barrel.

AHS Summer Crisp IPA

I think this will be my next brew. And my first All-Grain attempt.

I was out all weekend and didn't brew, but I did pick up my Balcones 5 gallon whiskey barrel from Brewstock late last week. Never smelled a bunghole so sweet.

Someone had posted a link to a barrel care info page a few months back, but we all know how useful the search feature is. Hook a brother up with a link.

Swish Barrel

I've used the cleaning and storing tablets. I'm afraid that it cleans it too good. So before using it, i may have to recharr and pour more whiskey in there for a couple weeks.
