You can pull the charitable donations from said 990 btw.
I am aware.

last time I checked it was either 80-90k each and they quit their day jobs. Day job info is not in 990's.

I don't think that's an absurd amount
Posted on 3/25/19 at 11:31 am to Deactived
well, it's higher than most nonprofits executive directors in this area but is commensurate by the annual net totals.

Just looked:
LINK
$128k and $56k
plus
Brockenbros, LLC performed management services for Hogs for the Cause, Inc. W. Becker Hall and Rene A. Louapre, IV are partners in Brockenbros, LLC and received compensation from Brockenbros, LLC. Total compensation paid to Brockenbros, LLC was $103,000 of which $51,500 was paid to W. Becker Hall and $51,500 was paid to Rene A. Louapre, IV.
Unless my math is wrong, or I can't read the 990 right, it looks like they get paid around $287k total?
But like others have said, great event.

When does the cooking happen? When does serving the concert goers happen?

What’s the parking situation? Free or pay? Plentiful or limited?

Literally the most "worth it" event I have ever attended. The music is great, the cause is worth supporting, and the food is absolutely phenomenal.
I will be attending the Friday portion for the first time, so I would love any recommendations as well.

I was only factoring in Executive salaries. Any side business/vendor comes with operational cost.

Hang out during the evening and enjoy the music and bacon dishes. Then make a walk around the Bud Light stage area when the parties kick off and pick the one with the best party/music/whatever.

I don't think Renee quit his day job, only Becker and I don't think they incur any operational costs for the management consulting fees.

Legit comment
Check out YouTube’s of “Boyfriend” who’s playing from 10-11:15 on Friday. It’s an all chick band dressed in burlesque garb.
Search “boyfriend band New Orleans”. Don’t get them mixed up with the Korean pop band “boyfriend”

Aren't those private parties for the cooking teams, though? I mean, if there's one with a bunch of F&DB folks, I'm game, but are they really that cool with random strangers party-crashing?

I don't know. I did not go through their balance sheet. Whatever it is , more power to them. The help for the Cause is the big picture.

I don't have a problem with how much they pay themselves as they have created an amazing organization. I do not love the alternative sources of income as it give the appearnce of trying to hide it and I think they should just own the money they get and list it all as salary, but that is a minor complaint and may have tax implications.
Again my main tension with Hogs is the cost/raising ratio with putting on the music side vs the BBQ side. I don't think their is much added value in trying to bring in bands that while great are a limited draw. Many competitors feel like the BBQ teams hard work in raising funds for charity is used to pay for the music without much return considering most people go for the BBQ/teams/atmosphere vs the actual acts booked.

The bigger ones are open, think some of them charge something - you'll see a lot of people you know. Send the kids home circa 8pm.
