I get the On the Border “Cafe Style” tortilla chips at the Super 1 here and they are awesome. If I get them at the Rouses 2 miles away they are completely different chips. Same brand, same style.

What is that?
Drives me crazy. Is that a normal thing?

I think they are the best supermarket chips. I buy them at Albertson's, Sam's, and Wal-Mart, but haven't noticed any difference. I have never purchased them from Super 1. I also used to love these

they were only sold in Lafayette at Albertson's, but I haven't seen them in a while.

Agreed they are the best I've gotten from a general brand. Just the ones at Super 1 though haha. I just don't understand it. And I've gotten them dozens of times from each. It's the weirdest thing.

try Julios. Those are the best plain chip I have ever had. I can eat them straight from the bag. Salsa and queso just make it better.

Different plants make the chips. Best guess is a different oil in making them.

I was going to suggest this as well. Chips Ahoy cookies made in Mexico are horrible, but the ones made in the US (getting harder to find these days) are better....

They had great marketing back in the 70's with their cartoons on the packaging, and television ads made a kid WANT these things. I didn't know that people still sought them out.

Since 70's relics have been brought up, do they still make Nutter Butter cookies? Those commercials from the late 60's/70's TV are indelibly stamped in my head.

I have 2 bags of those in my pantry

They're my favorite of the store bought ones that I've tried so far
