My co-worker read and will start this act of drinking half his body weight in ounces of water. I told him I would join him in the quest and see what it does. for me it requires drinking roughly 90 ounces of water a day. I am on my 3rd 20 oz tumbler of water and my stomach is definitely full of water.

Any insight on the perks and benefits of this fad?

TIA

You will be hydrated maybe? What perks are you expecting?

Drinking lots of water is not some new concept. I'm sure you've heard of 8 glasses a day... I don't know about "half your body weight." Do some real research on something that concerns your health instead of asking for anecdotal evidence.

You will inevitably get more exercise, as you'll be making more trips to the restroom. Find a distant restroom (maybe on another floor & take the stairs?) and you can burn off a few extra calories while you're at it.

You'll be in incredible pain through half of an hour long meeting. Learn to pee prior to every conference call or meeting.

being hydrated is not a fad.

Has wide ranging benefits, google is your friend in this situation.

Helps keep you full, curbing your appetite. good hydration is good for your health. I have my 30oz yeti and it's got coffee in it until about 11 and ice water the rest of the day. A squeeze or 2 of lemon seems to help flush my system, but that could be just a placebo effect.

I drink close to a gallon every day...keep a 32 oz. camelback thermos on my desk filled with water at all times. If you drink soda or sugary drink too, cut those out and drink only water. Plenty of health benefits there. I only drink water, coffee, and wine...occasionally a beer too, but becoming increasingly rare.

Here is a good tip. Buy some apples. Before each drink of water eat 1/2 an apple. The skin must be on. It's full of pectin. The water and pectin will expand in your stomach and make you feel really full.

I once mentioned how much water I drink a day on here and was called a liar.

Being hydrated makes you feel infinitely better.

I prefer water run through a Pur filter.

It is possible to drink too much water. You should drink Brawndo. It has electrolytes.

Or it could be the water and 22g of sugar.

I probably drink at least a gallon a day and have for 30 or so years. I just prefer it. I'm used to peeing every hour plus I'm old so that just comes with it. Clear urine is good urine.
