Had the kids make shrimp curry last weekend

All I did was chop the veggies (I don't trust them with my new knives yet), they did everything else. The curry blend came from here, I get all of my spices from there. Much more fresh than the grocery store, I can get them whole to toast and grind, and it ends up cheaper anyways.

what kind of rice do you use?
at least to my taste, basmati works much better with curry...

Yeah it's just regular medium grain rice, I didn't have any basmati on hand.

You say that but if you tried it you'd think differently. I've been making this over the years and even the most picky eaters ever (my daughter for example) devour the stuff. The Pakistani curry blend in the link in my OP is incredible, almost a sweet flavor to it.

That looks good. I use jasmine rice.

You live near Monroe by chance?
Edit.: reason I ask is your user name (I know it's the die hard guy)

Not a big curry fan but it looks great!
Great to get the kids in the kitchen with you. I'm looking forward to those days with my 5 mo old daughter.

Thanks for the spice link. I've been looking for another place to order from since Penzeys went all political on me. You have a recipe and process for the shrimp curry? I really enjoy the Thai green shrimp curry I make, but would love an Indian styled one.
Thanks,
The Caribbean curry blend is intriguing. Have you tried that one?
