Can someone offer the phonetic spelling...

I know it's not a "gryo" (i.e. gyroscope) and I don't say "heero". I pronounce it more like "yee-ro"

I just thought y'all would settle this for this a-hole sitting next to me.

TIA

I've always called it geeros (hard g) but someone corrected me once and said it's like, eeros or heeros.. weird.

Certainly someone of your social and cultural awareness, with the numerous celebrities you know and entertain at dinner parties; I will seek no further confirmation that I was correct.

Where have you been? A weather station north of the Atctic Circle like Captain Stillman from Stripes?

I could eat them all day...but my favorite is Turkish gyro - Doner kebab which I can't find anywhere in the states.

Instead of Tzatziki Sauce it has a chili sauce with salad on top. More greasy than the gyros and the meat is more of a mystery.

I actually had a gyro in Athens, Greece and they put french fries on top with ketchup. It was so disappointing.

Phoenicia is in Metairie.

And the best gyro in Metairie is Acropolis.

Although i now know it's wrong, i'm going to stick to Jai-rohs .

Hee-ro sounds dumb
