It’s not a ton left. I should toss it versus trying to freeze and save at this point, right?

Freeze it. More cold days left!

This is basically what DOGE was created for.

Wrong board, but you would probably be able to tell if it went bad. If it's questionable with no smell, add some water and boil it off and it'll probably be fine. There's enough salt and second-hand preservatives to keep it likely okay
I wouldn't do this with kids or pregnant women eating it, though.

just eat it with EXTRA hot sauce & heat it up very well, i’ve been known to eat a lot old stuff and i’m still breathing.
i do t pay attention to “expiration dates”, i always ice it a smell test & of it doesn’t fail immediately, I’ll get it up & give it a taste

A 9 day old gumbo?
I’m tossing. It’s not enough to worry over.

Toss it too old to freeze

Why would you even consider 9 days appropriate? 4-5 days, regularly. 6-7 if you want to push it.

Remember the turkey is 1 day older than the rest of the gumbo, so it’s 10 days old. I would be sad, but I would toss it.

On the one hand I’m sure you’re fine but on the other hand all the protein will have that subtly gross “warmed over” taste and unless you’re really on the down and outs just order a pizza or something
