Ground Pat'i - Pewter Mugs

It's been quite a long time since I've been to a Ground Pat'i, but I always get nostalgic over the pewter mugs. Sure, you had to drink your soft drink through a straw, or it tasted like water, but they just looked and felt really cool.
I've tried a few times to locate something similar, but today I think I might have found the real deal from a restaurant supply company. Anyone have these? Anyone know if these are the same mugs used by Ground Pat'i? 14 oz. is a little smaller than I had assumed, but my memory could be off.
Bon Chef 4007P Noggin Tankard, Pewter Glo 14 oz., Set of 6
Our Price: $125.89 / per set of 6

Were the old Ground Pat’i mugs really pewter? Somehow, I doubt that, I think they were cast aluminum, with a brushed finish. I’d think that pewter was too pricey for a burger joint.

You might be correct.
If you read the details on link:
"Aluminum alloy construction"
"Pewter Glo products can be refurbished to their original luster"

It's a set of 6, so it's like $20/mug.
The set is more than I want pay, but I haven't found a place that sells them individually.

Of course you can get used individual mugs cheaper on eBay. But optimally, I'd like a matching set of 4 for the house. Not a bunch of individual mugs that look like a mismatched table setting from Goodwill.

Reminds me of maw-maw’s cups. Family LOVED those things, but they transferred the cold to my hands instead keeping my milk cold.

I remember the mugs as being the “horn” look where the mug wraps around at the bottom to form the handle. I also remember when they went from real pewter to aluminum. There was a significant weight difference.

She didn't have the knit sleeves to put over them so this wasn't a problem?

Didn't the mugs at GP have glass bottoms? (Or plexiglass/clear plastic)

Ground Pat'i was very good. Better burger than the one million craft burger joints that inundate Baton Rouge these days.

My memory could be wrong, but I believe they DID NOT have clear plastic bottoms.

Yeah, but that shite lasts forever. We got pewter plates & bowls for our wedding 25 years ago, we still have them all, and they look the same as the day we bought them.
