What is a great ground coffee that’s not too bitter. Looking to upgrade from my normal Community Cafe blend.

Heavy bitterness generally occurs because of your method of brewing, not the beans themselves. It’s caused by over extraction.

Buy a burr grinder, buy whole bean coffee...noticeably better coffee even in a drip brewer.

I just got a Bonavita as well and I really enjoy French Truck's "Big River". Everything I've had so far from them is on point. It comes whole bean, though. Worth it to grind it yourself. So good.

If you’re looking for smoothness, go buy a pound of Dunkin Donuts Original Blend. I’m sure this will get downvotes, but it’s really good coffee. I bought it in a pinch at a pharmacy on vacation a while back and was pleasantly surprised. It’s my daily drinker now.

We really enjoy Italian medium roast coffees in our Bonavita, not bitter at all. Specifically, we're using Illy Drip Classico (not their Espresso Classico) and Lavazza Classico. We have a burr grinder but have been more than happy with their ground coffee. For us three well rounded scoops is perfect for our Bonavita 8-cup coffee maker.

French Truck will grind your beans when you buy it. I highly recommend trying their Big River or Rougarou blend which is what I'm drinking now.

I too am sick of Community. I've been drinking it black for about 8 years and enough's enough.

I just bought from these people based on a recommendation in another thread. Apparently you can easily spend $20-30 on specialty roasts so I found $12 to be a fair price.

Pickle Block Roasters (the area where they live near Govt St. is called "pickle block"...supposedly.
