Anyone use their ready made meals? I saw where they have a decent selection of low carb meals and on Saturday they are all $5 bucks.

I use them and love it. They’re small, so just keep that in mind. Some are great, some not so much. I’ve been doing it about a year now so I’ve honed in on the solid ones.
I’ll post back in here tonight.

Green Heart Meals, right?
My daughter and I have been buying some on Saturdays for a while. Some are better than others and of course personal taste comes into play. I avoid the meals with cauliflower mash and zoodles. Tried them but just didn't like them.

They aren't worth the Saturday special price. I feel bad for the people who buy them on any other day.

Tiger... What makes you say they are not worth it? Portion size? Taste?
Posted on 5/7/21 at 9:29 am to DieSmilen
I thought they would be cool for quick, healthy lunches but when I went in one time (and granted this was only once) the selection was very poor and realizing I was paying for chicken breast and vegetables didn't make sense to me.
To those who enjoy it though, more power to them

Like I said, very hit or miss. Some are decently sized and filling. Some are so small you're still starving.
What I like about them is that I can buy 10 for $50 when I'm really needing to get back on track and don't want to sit there and weigh each ingredient and create nutritional information. I'm unusually short (4'9"), so I can't just "eat low carb for a few weeks" and lose weight. If you're a larger/taller person, you might supplement these meals with healthy snacks depending on your goals.
I'm actually surprised when I see big built men in Green Heart Meals because the meals seem too small for a man.
Meals I've liked, and that are decent in size:
BBQ Chicken Stuffed Sweet Potato
BBQ Pulled Pork Quesadilla
BBQ Shrimp and Sausage Cauli Grits
Beef and Broccoli
Brown Rice Jambalaya
Hamburger Steak - It is like a cafeteria hamburger steak, so warning. I just love shitty cafeteria patties
Pesto Chicken Wrap (heat this one on a skillet or George Foreman)
Philly Cheese Steak Wrap - This and the wrap above are very generous in size
Pulled Pork Quesadilla
Steak Quesadilla
Buffalo Turkey Meatballs with Brown Rice and Broccoli - This one is new and I liked it
Supreme Pizza Pasta (yum) - Surprisingly more than you'd think you get with real pasta.. though not massive
Chicken or Brisket Enchiladas - Generous portion
Ones I avoid:
Deconstructed Egg Roll (it is basically just cabbage)
Stuffed Bell Peppers - These are delicious, but verrrry small
Anything with green beans. They use frozen green beans, which I strongly dislike. This is just a personal preference.
Six Pepper Steak - Not filling and the zucchini turns to water/mush
Any sort of zoodle dish.. I find them not an appropriate sub for pasta
I also haven't purchased any of the breakfast items, since I don't eat breakfast.

Are the quesadillas just meat & cheese or do they have veggies too?

Just meat and cheese. These are pretty simple meals overall, really just meant to keep you in your calorie limits without having to prep it yourself. Several of my friends who do not know how to cook do either Green Heart Meals or Sensible Meals on Monday-Friday. One friend lost like 30lbs on them.
When I have the motivation, I can definitely make larger meals for myself that are low-cal compared to Green Heart because I use substitutions they don't use (Xtreme Wellness tortilla, only 50cals). I've noticed many of the items have gone a bit up in calories on their labels and I think it is because they switched to regular ground beef and regular tortillas, etc.

They are tiny. It's a questionable amount of nutrition for a woman. Much less the jacked dudes I always see walking in there when my girlfriend goes. (*She loves the meals for what it's worth)
Most of the meals are like 300 calories that are "healthy". Add in bland tastes, it's easier and probably cheaper to meal prep for yourself. Go once to try it solely to keep the trays for your own food. That's about the only plus out of it.

I have been on low carb for a few weeks and done really well. My staple for dinner has been the mission tortilla low carb with some sort of meat and cheese and veggies. Could be costco chicken or sliced brisket or grilled chicken but was looking to supplement a night or two when I am running. Behind with the kids.

I'd still recommend something else. Don't think it's going to fill you up.

Are they always 10 for $50, or is that some deal (a Saturday price maybe?)
Just asking bc there are 9 ppl in my house, and sometimes I'm lazy (a lot of times

They’re $6 if you buy more than a certain amount (maybe 6?) all the other days. $7 if you’re only buying a couple.

Do not buy these if you have 9 people around. Hell a growing young boy could plow three of them.

Thanks!

I was also wondering about this - my teen boys (14& 15) and the 10 year old boy eat like there’s no tomorrow
Maybe they’ll just be ‘mom’ meals

My girl went again today. Got a turkey egg roll bowl. 7 carbs for 190 calories. A rip off for 5 dollars. But to each their own.

That was on my list of no good. Should have taken note
In all seriousness, you have to be decently versed in nutrition or all of these companies are going to seem scammy.
93% lean ground turkey from the store is 170 cals per 4oz; which is considered to be 1 serving meant to go with sides and whatnot.
Factor in whatever they use for flavor (onions, garlic, etc) + they oil they cook it in, you’re at over 200 cals before the cabbage even gets added. Purely by knowing that, you know that if this is listed as under 200 cals, it isn’t much food at all. Not a good idea to purchase meals that low in calories.

It was the first one on top. I just shook my head. I didn't even go in.
