I was bartending in Fort Worth while I was in college in '96... and the guy that started Tito's was going door to door with it trying to get bars to carry it. I'm completely floored that it's gotten as big as it has. TERRIBLE aftertaste.

Ketel One is the only way to go for me.

Their Oranj is a dead ringer for GG Orange - outstanding substitute for less $.

Apparently there isn't just good marketing for vodka.

I know vodka's not supposed to have a taste ideally but I find Tito's too flavorless. Grey Goose is a marketing joke. I go with Absolut.

We did a blind tasting at the bar and Priviet (about $14/liter) beat everything else on the shelf. Of the OP's 3 listed, Stoli scored highest in our little experiment.

It's not just about the taste. Cheap vodka will yield a worse hangover. I'm not a vodka snob, but I don't like to drink less than Smirnoff or something of the same caliber, and will request such when I order it. At home, I switch between Smirnoff and tito's mostly. Rift now I have a bottle of Dripping Springs, which is pretty good, but not good enough to pay $40/handle again. I just bought it because I had never seen it before.

I've switched several goose and ketel one drinkers to Titos.

Absolut is horrible to me.

I don't drink vodka so my opinion can be automatically dismissed, but Tito's has to have the ugliest damn brand/bottle I've ever seen. I keep thinking every time I see it, "that shite must be good, because lord knows nobody buys it based on looks." Smirnoff branding blows it away, and that stuff is deplorable.

being hungover has so much more to do with other factors than how much the liquor cost.... believe me Ive been pretty hung over after drinking Woodford Reserve before, but have drunk Benchmark all night and woke up like a champ....I never have bought that argument

When you are mixing like this, you might as well just get pretty much the cheapest shite at this point.

I've always heard Tito's purchases industrial neutral grape spirits and then distills that, rather than crafting a vodka from start to finish. Not sure if entirely true, but people point to them not having a tour as a rationale.

Can anyone confirm or deny?
