Good Place in NOLA?

Heading to New Orleans this weekend for a wedding on Friday night. The girlfriend is a Texas fan, so she insists on watching the game on Saturday. I believe it starts at 11am.
Any suggestions for a good place to get lunch, some bloody Mary's, and watch the game?

Bruno's at the corner of Maple and Hilary uptown.

is the correct suggestion. Go with the debris poboy, or at least the debris cheese fries. Great drinks and plenty televisions.

Looks like Bruno's is the place.
Now, for dinner on Saturday night, I need an awesome, quinessential New Orleans place (I know this is a rehash from a thread on Friday).
I'm thinking either MiLa or Clancey's at this point. I have been to Clancey's many years ago, so I kind of know what to expect. Not sure about the atmosphere at MiLa.
Thoughts? Anywhere else I should consider?

MiLa is not that type of place. It is great. Clancy's is a top five quintessential NO place.

What are your others?
I'm guessing Commanders and Galatoire's are on that list?

Antoine's and Arnaud's.

I'm curious as to how you came up with those two as your possible choices?
Not really trying to criticize, they just seem like sort of a random pair of places, given what you're looking for.

Stella! (my first thought) was booked and Clooney recommended MiLa in the other thread. I have no idea what type of place it is other than everyone highly recommended its food.
Clancey's is a place I've been and have been wanting to go back to for some time. I'd like to take the GF uptown since she's never really seen that part of the city. Plus, the Quarter/CBD will be a mad-house that night, I suspect.
Nothing else was suggested in the other thread that was either available (the entire city is booked that weekend) or really stoked my interest.

I would go to cooter browns to watch the game. What about Brightsen's for dinner?

Clancy's is fantastic. It is local in terms of clientel, but a more well known "New Orleans experience" Uptown would be Commander's.
Clancy's is the Galatoire's of Uptown.
ETA: Brigtsen's is fantastic, too.

Anybody have a link to Tiger Attorney's thread about New Orleans experiences? Just trying to map out a good Saturday after Tex loses to OU.

First of all, MiLa is great. But it does really offer anything uniquely New Orleans. For that I would agree with the Clancy's recommendation; or maybe Gautreau's, Dick N Jennys,Dante's Kitchen, etc...
As far as a place to drink, eat, and watch a game, let me recommend The Hermes Bar (the Antoine's bar). They have a special bar menu including an Oyster Foch poyboy that is awesome. They have large TV behind the mirror that comes on for big games. It's an incredible place to watch a game.

Thanks all. Got us reservations at Clancey's for Saturday night.

Think they'll crank that up at 11am for Tex/OU?

OU is going to beat Texas....I am very much looking forward to it. I searched for that thread I made, but I couldn't find it....I could probably remember most of it if interested.

Of course I'm interested.
But, as for remaining specific requests:
1) What would you recommend for post-dinner drinkings after Clancey's? Some live music (jazz) would be awesome, but atmosphere and good cocktails are the most important.
2) Sunday brunch: I have the AMEX conceirge checking with Commander's right now for their Jazz brunch. If that is not available, where else would you recommend?
3) Lunch places for Friday. I know all the big tourist spots, but any out of the way, must try places in the quarter and/or uptown?

1.) Polo Club Lounge or Ritz Bar for Jeremy Davenport...the latter is like a NOLA version of the rat pack.
2.) Arnaud's
3.) MiLa and August have 3 course for $20 deals, CP has 25 cent martinis if brunch does not pan out there...I think you would enjoy an uptown bistro lunch like coquette, le petit grocery or lilette.
Give me a second on the other request...really busy today.

I haven't yet been to Coquette, but I have heard great things about the place. Big thumbs up on Lilette and Le Petit Grocery.
