Welcome to the real world, bro. Lobbyists, politicians, and business people are called movers and shakers. It’s even in the dictionary. Sorry you didn’t know that

Every lobbyist and politician I know would laugh you out of the room if you called them a “mover” or a “shaker”

I know what it means. Your orginial post was a rambling about "movers and shakers" and "wanna be movers and shakers" and Instagram posts. It made no sense and was fricking hilarious as you were trying to make a serious point.

I appreciate you giving everyone a chuckle. TYFYS

But I’ll chalk that up to poor management during the stressful period of opening a new restaurant. They were probably more focused on making sure the lighting was just right for the DJ booth rather than things like “menus”

But spelling errors on your menu for your opening is a huge mistake. Multiple levels mistake all the way up to ownership I’d think.

I don’t think this helps your position.
It would be a badge of honor to be laughed at by a politician. The lowest of the low.

But they are the movers and shakers! The tastemakers, if you will.

Yes, politicians and lobbyists are generally considered movers and shakers. Keep laughing at reality.

As much as I hate to agree with Mingo, he’s absolutely right. We are laughing at you.

FWIW I just spoke with a friend of mine who runs a lobbying firm in BR and he said he hasn’t been but the place sounds corny as hell and everyone he’s talked to said the food was just ok. And that politicians are hesitant to go there because the price point is so high that it will be a red flag for ethics reasons.

Also, now that I know the place is run by The Landry Group, things are making a lot more sense.

Okay quick follow up from going Friday. Corny is a very apt word. The food was pretty good I guess. Nothing special, about as expensive as Ruth’s Chris I suppose. I don’t see a reason to really go back, but it wasn’t bad

Second hand information, but when my friend went, he said Garret Graves was there and he was holding court. Everyone stopped at his table to greet him. And as I said, he was with a lobbyist and a group of people in his industry. Hesitation does not always stop the action.
Which is why I said lobbyists and politicians.

Who calls them that?

The issue is it’s kinda an outdated term that nobody uses anymore.

The source told me and I’m telling you. I am not the source.

You and Mingo really need to get laid or something, bro.

This has to be a troll at this point.

You definitely started out 100% serious, but I think you realized how absurd you sound and started trolling so you could say the whole thing wasn't serious.

I did the same thing. You disavowed it as second hand knowledge and proceeded to do the same thing. Only my friend is a “mover and shaker” who would laugh at seeing Graves and not give him the time of day.

You are, by all accounts, stupid.

This is the only explanation. And if I bit, then shame on me.
