I've lived in the neighborhood all of my life and never tried Giorlando's until last year. I don't see it mentioned here too much but the food is great. It is a family owned and managed business. I like supporting them knowing that it is run this way.

I tried the meatball po-boy and onion rings last night for dinner and both were great. Chicken parm is another great option here.

You might have been the one who mentioned them on her not long ago and it made me want to visit them.

I picked up a shrimp poboy and a few other items a few weeks ago and all was solid. I also love supporting places like this.
The dine in clientele sure did appear to be up in age the night I went. LOL

It's not mentioned here much because it's out in Metairie. It's a solid spot, but it would be hard to wax poetically about a nice chicken parm.

I agree with you in that I prefer to patronize locally owned businesses, but most places in town are locally owned. That's one aspect that makes NOLA special.

Solid old school joint. Ate lunch there often when I worked in Metairie.

Great old place, I love the seeded Italian bread on the poboys. I kinda liked it better when it was more of a joint. Last trip it was white tablecloths and someone to seat me.

The food is no-fail perfection, nothing groundbreaking here, just old school done right, priced right.

I liked it better when it was more casual and a LOT cheaper.

Ever since it went from order at the counter to table service the prices jumped big time. Used to be a great place for a cheap lunch special.

Who has the better geriatric regulars, Fury's or Giorlando's?

Damn I was also going to say Peppermill .

Really any restaurant in Metry is going to have a high blue hair population.

Mufaletta is slamming. Meat to bread ratio is perfect. Nice and hot and lots of cheese

Chicken parm is legit over there. Always end up bringing food home because the proportions are huge, IMO.
