Probably not. Supposedly, his daughter and son each inherited 50% of George's. The daughter wants to sell the restaurant and the son wants to reopen it. Neither is budging.

His son is the last person you want running a restaurant. They should sell both Perkins and Southside to Tony and walk away and let him do what he does.

Yikes. Succession nightmare. Either sell the business and split up the money or give one a majority.

We have told my parents and my in-laws that we do not want anything in the will that gives a share of property to more than one person. Just give it to my brother or spouses siblings and forget about us in that case. It’s a shite show waiting to happen and we both have siblings who would make our lives a living hell. Divide it up however you see fit, it belongs to you, but we don’t want to deal with the crazies after.

Tony manages the Highland location, and by all accounts does a great job. I thought he was working to buy this location from the heirs but I could be mistaken.

George's Perkins back in the late 70's/early 80's was the tits.

Yep to all of this. Tony was the long time manager at Perkins who moved to Southside several years back. He's been running that location all through Covid and after Smokie's death and they're doing really well according to him. I worked for him in the late 90s at Perkins and he was the best boss I ever had.

Worked for Tony at George’s circa 2005 as well…. Hope he gets his chance to buy because the son (not saying his name) has a few screws loose.
