Happened in RP a few years back, didn't it? Think it was a space heater though.
Yep. Although I'll admit that Richland Parish is a hot bed for small houses and dumb people, so it was no suprise to us when it occured.

The inlaws house blew up when my wife was a kid...real bad deal, though all survived. I'm not gonna make any intelligence comments...

You gotta have gas, plain and simple.

I made a vow to never have an electric range ever again

The only blow up I've seen in my neighborhood was about 20 years ago. It was a gigantic motor home, the silver stream type. Butane stove in the kitchenette blew up. Minor damage to the slab home it was parked next to.

Yea, but some people are dumb, live in really small houses, and have poorly functioning noses. It's people like this who potentially are very susceptible to getting their asses blown up by their gas stove.
people this dumb aren't concerned about their stoves.

Unless of course their stove is a key component to their clandestine meth lab.

Loved that place. We used to stop and get the seafood gumbo when I was younger. I was crushed when it "blew up".
I've had both electric and gas. Love the gas. I don't have one of those burners, though, that allows you to simmer real low. Even turning the gas all the way down without it going out, isn't quite as low as I'd like to be able to go, so if you're buying look into that. I can't quite recall what those low temp burners are called.

I'm with Zack my cooktop is located in a huge island thats allways the gathering point at my parties.Keeping the glasstop clean on my JennAir down draft electric is a breeze, and very necessary.I cook a lot and regulating the heat is very easy to get used to.

I went there with my dad when I was about 12 and enjoyed it. Went back when I was 16 and the waitresses passed me by for a half hour. Didn't matter how many times I said, "Excuse me...Miss" Left and never went back.
