I'd try the Merchant.

I went there before the southern miss game for lunch and it wasn't crowded. Obviously it's a different crowd coming to BR this weekend.

solid beer selection, good food and pretty laid back. Not the best TV selection so if they are overly concerned with watching games, go elsewhere.

Plus, it's right off campus.

Georges under the overpass. Enough people to get a fun atmosphere, but wont be crowded. Cool history as I have seen John Brady sloshed there, Daddy Dale eat a po'boy, etc etc.

Some on here will shite on it because thats the cool thing to do, but they have some good stuff on the menu for a gameday lunch.

Zeeland is good but not really a "hang out for a while" spot.

I would definitely go to the overpass area, either Merchant, Georges, City Pork

Seems like Parrain's might be a good spot. I'd suggest The Merchant, but the lack of TVs would be a problem on a college football Saturday.

Haven't been to the new Phil's Oyster Bar yet, but it might fit the bill, and Bulldog is a few steps away for beers on their patio since the weather will be nice.
