The Spot for not fancy/sports bar type dining.

The Spot is owned by an LSU family. The grilled shrimp poboy is on point even though the bread is not Leidenheimer.

While the spot is a cool hangout, the food is not good. Go there after eating at Rudy and paco.

The Spot was the only place that guaranteed to play the LSU game. Food was ok for us because we had kids with us. VERY casual.

La Vigna for very good Italian. Mario’s on 61st Street (not Seawall!) for great pizza and alfredo. Number 13 for excellent steaks and drinks overlooking Offatts Bayou in a marina setting. Rudy and Paco is always great. BLVD for seafood. Shrimp n Stuff on Ave O for old school fried seafood. Avoid all Landry’s establishments like the plague.
