Galliano recommendations

Headed to Galliano to visit customers. Any good Po Boy shops or plate lunch suggestions? Wanted to pick up and deliver lunch.

Parenton's in old Jefferson has 'em for $11.
Harry's is good, but if you order roast beef to go, you will have a beefy bread pudding by the time you get to Galliano. So call your order in beforehand, and see if they'll give you the fixins' and bread separately. (and eat a crab pattie poboy for me.)

Mommie Jo's, which is in Cut Off; lots of fried seafood, gumbo, fried chicken

Isn't there a place in Galliano, where it's not even really a restaurant, but just this old Cajun lady who cooks amazing food in, I think, her home, that you can get a reservation and go eat there?

I have never made the trip. On the map LaRose and Galliano look to be about a 15 minute drive. Is it longer? How about hwy 90 to Galliano?

Alzina Toups. I've been a few times. It is in her son's old metal building that was his welding shop. It's like $40 per person. Haven't been in about 3 years and she's up in her 80's. Her granddaughters help with her. Bring your own wine and booze. Great trip. We've taken chartered short busses.

You have to get the whole place and go with a group. She isn't a restaurant and you can't just walk in. I believe 16-20 people are minimum. Something like that.

She stays booked with people from all over the world. She has a couple of groups from France that have been coming every year for like 30 years.
It's good old Cajun food. Not extraordinary but very well done. Gumbo, lot of shrimp. She cooked on her husbands shrimp boat.
Her son had the steakhouse above the gas station in Port Fouchon. Can't remember the name of it.

And some of those wavy frosted skinny brownies w/granulated sugar on the bottom from Dufrene's bakery. Or a chocolate layer cake w/sliced banana filling from Galjours.
