No one dies from rape or second hand smoke.

However, they are usually events preceeding an event that results in death.

Rape precedes murder
Secondhand smoke precedes cancer

However, exposure to rape or secondhand smoke does not mean death will surely follow.

agree, they are forced to operate a certain way. They can't argue or protest because they have little to no power.

So you're an anarchist.

Ummm, that is not anarchy. At all.

Guess no one dies from alcohol or cigarettes or bullets either.

I guess it depends on exposure rates.

Again, are you being forced to inhale smoke or are you choosing to go to a restaurant that allows smoking because you like the food enough to tolerate the smoking?

(it's rhetorical)

Why don't we just get rid of all laws? That seems to be what would make you most happy.

"Anarchism holds the state to be undesirable, unnecessary, or harmful"

That pretty much sums up fightin tigers' thoughts on the matter.

So let me get this right. Your police force is down over 300 officers and violent crime is rampant and you look around and a SMOKING BAN is at the top of your list of things that you need to fix? Stupid!

Well ya. We cant make too much out of the crime problem right now. Got to look good for the millions of people getting ready to come in town. Just sweep it under the rug.

the city counsel also just told me putting a bike lane and reducing Baronne Street to one lane would only add 2-4 minutes to my commute according to the "model". Its added 15 to 20 easy. So much for the "model"

Just to be fair, my office is just off of Baronne and I haven't noticed it to be that bad. The frigging construction is the real issue.

Why don't we just outlaw the bars? Wouldn't that dramatically reduce deaths by DWI?

Those are the closest thing to innocent deaths, if there are such a thing.

-----------
First, they came for the Absinthe - I did not drink Absinthe so I did not speak up.

Next, they came for the cigarette's - I did not smoke so I did not speak up.

Then, they came for my alcohol - there was no one to speak up for me.

Hey, hijack...

Can anyone think of a place to be indoors and watch the fireworks tonight? Westin the only one?
