I came into BR this past weekend for a family thing, and ended up going to French Truck for my morning coffee every day.

I have to say, I was impressed. It's a place that I think BR really needed, and they are filling that void nicely.

The food was excellent, the coffee was even better, and I really like the design of the space. The use of Cane's ice in their iced coffee was a great touch. Didn't hurt that the weather was perfect to sit outside.

I feel like it's a much better executed MagPie.

Not that anyone actually cares about my opinion, just wanted to give my two cents on a place in BR I hadn't been to before now.

It's Sonic ice, and did you have some actual coffee too or just iced coffee?

French Truck is the shite. Several locations in NOLA, and also one in Memphis.

I almost typed Sonic ice, but went for the more BR flair of Cane's.

You knew what I meant and that's all that matters.

I only had the iced coffee. It's been cold where I live so I passed on getting regular coffee since I have 4 or so cups of it a day at home. With the warmer weather the iced coffee was a refreshing change of pace. My wife had the NOLA coffee, which was good, but I don't like any sweetener in my coffee so I stuck with the OG.

They had some blue tables with a couple chairs at each of them all along the side and front of the building.

French Truck is great. I remember when these guys were starting out a few years back in Bywater, now they are all over the place.

They’re still very small and mostly just do popups but you should try Pickle Block Roasters. Their coffee is all I’m drinking lately.

Is this the same was as in NOLA? If so, it's legit.

I used to be a die-hard Cafeciteaux guy, but French Truck does punch cards and your 8th bag of beans is free. French Truck always has a nice selection of freshly roasted beans available.

I think they keep it in stock at Studio C on Government LL. They do a great job as well but they just don't have the variety that FT has.

Yes they do. Studio C is my go to gift shop lately. They do great things.
