Has any body eaten at Francois Cafe? wife and I tried Sunday for the first time, mmeh. Location I feel is excellent but for a Sunday brunch you would think they would have been busier than 5-6 tables at 11am. I had the grilled Tuna (over seasoned) Wife had seafood Omelet which was a healthy portion size and covered with a sauce that tasted like a prepared vendor sauce but was reasonably priced. Huge menu but not sure if we will return to try more.

It always looks dead to me. I work right near there but have never been.

I went with some coworkers for lunch a couple months ago. Was not impressed. No need to go back.

It's as if they went all in on making the space look nice only to half arse the food. It's not necessarily horrible, but it appears their goal is to do the absolute bare minimum to get by.
Wife and I went a year ago. She ordered the Turkey sandwich. One of the side options was "house chips". When asked what kind of chips they were, the waitress very candidly said "It's just a bag of Lay's we have in the back." The beer selection was limited to three bottles - Miller/ Bud/Coors Light and Corona.
The food was edible, but completely boring. I think the owner is of middle eastern decent trying to cook "Bourbon Street style recipes." (whatever the hell that is) That's why you randomly see kabobs on the menu.
People in De Monies might think it was great. But down here they don't give you anything better than what 2 dozen or more other places could provide.

It seems like a good location, especially since the parking lot was expanded. Albasha nextdoor stays busy.

It does seem like a good location. But nothing has made it there recently.

The owner is known to be a first class asshat, so there's that. He had to leave Zachary to escape his reputation.

Asshat Cafe & Grille has a nice ring.

I fricking hate that place and the owner manager or whatever he is called.
We ordered the crab cakes appetizer. I asked the waitress if these were imitation made/mixed or if it was real crab meat. She assured me it was real. Well, it wasn’t. There was like 3 small pieces of crab and the rest imitation in which I opened it up and showed the manager and sent them back. It’s my one pet peeve about restaurants offering crab cakes. Idk why, but I hate paying real crab prices and then getting some imitation crab mix bullshite. The owner was offended and it was downhill from there.
I got lasagna which is described as house made. LOL it was from a frozen box and you could tell. It wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t house made. Wife got crawfish pasta. Pasta and sauce wasn’t bad but the crawfish were Chinese. Small, bland, fishy tasting.
Long story short, the place won’t make it.

I don't think it'll make it another year. That lease can't be cheap.

Funny to see that our family isn’t the only ones who thinks the dude is a dick. And yeah the food is subpar
