Do you hard boil before and put them in or drop them in uncooked while the gumbo has a boil?

Asking for a friend.

Ive had them both ways. I like them both ways but I prefer them boiled, then peeled and added to the pot. If we eating leftover gumbo I'll hear it up in a pot and drop a few eggs in it.

So fresh, hardboiled.
Leftover, dropped in.

IMO, boiled eggs are one of the worst foods there is, both in taste and texture. Its like eating a turd.

Never in gumbo but in a shrimp stew. Drop them in raw on a low simmer so they don’t break apart. My favorite way to do it.

My grandmother used to do this. Hard boil them first then throw them in the gumbo when it is almost finished.

My dad used to put them in boiled at first, but then began to "spoon" them in. Gently lower them in a large spoon while the cook as one. Those were much better tasting, I found.

I poach them in red bean gumbo. Make your gumbo, get it to a simmer and crack the egg and let the inside drop into the simmering water.
