What are some good first date options in NOLA around uptown or the warehouse district and causal dress (jeans and a nice shirt). At this point Le Crepe Nanou is a no go. Looking for some other options.

Thanks in advance.

Jamila's
Mayas (make sure to get a mojito)
Flaming Torch
Baru
Coquette (actually this is probably a little much for a first date)

You'd need reservations for some of those

Too much garlic for a first date IMO

And that is more central city than uptowns I believe

Lola is in Mid City/Esplanade Ridge.

To the OP, since it's a first date and you want something casual Uptown, I would consider Jacques Imos (don't listen to the haters).

Baru is a great date place.
Bring your own bottle of wine and sit outside.

I can't imagine a worse first date place than JMO's. Some of the suggestions have been really good.

The problem w/ JacquesImos is that it's too loud for a first date. Other than that, great place.

You really would want to go to an intimate place on a first date?

My first date was at Port of Call and I don't regret it one bit.

Not really

But I would probably want to go some place where we could talk for a while

Do you have anything planned after dinner?

Boucherie is too loud as well, IMO

I like pulling the dinner/dessert combo for the first date, so I would pick somewhere close to Sucre or Creole Creamery so you can stop in after dinner

Sucre has some great chocolates for gifts but I wouldn't go there for dessert on a date

I'd go to the bar at coquette for an after dinner drink and a dessert there.

But then again, I'm not 14 years old.

It is a really fun place to go with a group. On a first date, not so much.

No

Of course not. I guess I just don't get the appeal of sucre unless you're going for gelato or to pick up some chocolates for a gift.

Flaming Torch, especially if you sit upstairs, is an EXCELLENT suggestion.

Le Crepe Nanou?
Patois?
