FBD is a Unibroue 17th. Kinda disappointed in this one. It smells great, but the oak dominates the taste and the finish is kind of lacking.

FBD - SA Divine Reserve No. 12

Pretty good. The flavors are complex and I don't find it to be overly boozy like the NC Old Stock Ale. Certainly not worth any rigmarole to obtain it. I will be interested to see how it ages.

FBDers - What, if any, advice do y'all have when it comes to flying with beer. Do I need to keep it in my carry on? can I carry it on? is it safe to put it in a suitcase and check it?

I brought some beer back from Chicago earlier this year and snuck it in various spots in our suitcases. I wrapped everything in clothes to provide adequate cushion for any rough handling by airport workers.

We're received a notice that our bags were searched. No shock to me. The setup likely looked pretty odd going through the scanner.

Kim, the water looks beautiful. We were in gulf shores at the end of May and can't remember when the water ever looked that good. Enjoy!

SBD was an imperial pint of Stone Arrogant Bastard at the Chimes. Shutting it down tonight. The bloody Mary's, peach sangrias and big beers have taken their toll.

B what can you tell me about Rouge to Orleans? Rocky Raccoon is sold out and I'm seriously considering doing it solo.

126.2 miles. Elevation loss of 50 feet net. It's cold and windy that time of year. The vast majority will be on crushed limestone on the levee. It's a good fun race, but be prepared to go 25 miles between aid stations. I'd advise having a crew.

I'll be coordinating the drop bags for next year's race, since that is a good bit of work and requires some driving up and down the course.

If you have any questions, check out the website at Rouge Orleans. I can also get you in touch with the race director.

The water is so fine this trip--no seaweed. It looks like we may have some bad weather the next couple days, but I will endeavor to persevere.

Internet was down at the house last night. SBD was another SweetWater IPA, 3BD was a Canebrake, a couple mojitos at dinner, then a bomber of 10th Anniversary Ruination.
